Why Lockdown Is Not Reducing COVID-19 Cases
Coronavirus is a deadly virus that has shaken the pillars of the world and is still very active. It has already spread rapidly in the United States, Spain, France, Italy, and many more countries. It is now beginning to affect India, the country with the second largest population in the world.
It was expressed that if Coronavirus had the same effect as other countries, 20% of India’s total population would lose their lives. The total population of India is 1.3 billion, and 40% of 1.3 billion is around 25 million, so seeing 55 million deaths due to a virus is horrific.
It could devastate the entire country.
Fortunately, the effect of coronavirus has not been as fatal in India. To the present day, only 96,000 people have been affected by the disease, and the death toll is 3029. Another positive point is that the recovery rate in India is high; Of the 96000 affected, 36824 have already recovered and have been sent home.
Researchers have revealed that the type of virus that has affected India is weaker than viruses affecting other countries. The type of coronavirus affecting India is type B, which is a weaker variant and less lethal than A and C type viruses. But researchers and medical experts have revealed that there is every opportunity to try and convert this B type virus into A or C type virus, which can surely be disastrous for the country.
Another study showed that weather conditions in India play a large role in restricting the spread of this deadly coronavirus. It is known that coronaviruses require cold climates to survive for more extended periods, but insignificant parts of India, the climate is hot and hot.
Therefore, it inhibits the rapid growth of deadly viruses. It has been observed that after the declaration of the lockout in India, the cases recorded were increasing every day.
Currently, India is going through the fourth round of lockdown, and yet the cases registered each day are increasing. This is a matter of great concern, and there were reports that earlier, the number of tests conducted each day was very small. Therefore the positive cases recorded were few. Now, in the last three weeks, the number of trials has increased each day, which is why the number of cases recorded each day is higher. Therefore, we can say that more trials reveal more cases; Testing is the only way a country can understand its actual situation in the event of an epidemic.
Between the lockdowns, liquor shops were opened for two to three days, and a large number of people visited all these shops. This may be one of the reasons for the increase in cases, as the virus can spread through multiple folds. This is a difficult situation for the country, and it is getting harder to deal with this deadly virus. On 17 May, hours after the fourth round lockdown was declared, it was found that there was a spike of 5567 cases in 24 hours, the highest record spike ever.
Cases are increasing on a daily basis even after so many days of lockdown.
